Preaching on Faithful Citizenship
At The Dorothea Project, we uphold the principle of Catholic Teaching that participation is a necessary part of promoting the common good (CCC 1913) and that, "As far as possible citizens should take an active part in public life" (CCC 1915).
In light of this teaching and the signs of the times, the US Bishops have put forth 3 priorities for Catholics for this election season: 1. The Church's Role to Transform Society; 2. "Who is My Neighbor?"; and 3. Faith Before Politics.
In an effort to help priests and clergy instruct their congregations on these priorities, the USCCB has created a wonderful preaching guide with observations to tie in for the themes for each Sunday's Readings. Click here to see the guide and share the link!
Could you please take a few minutes today to email this preaching guide to your priests, deacons, and even Bishop, share with them why Faithful Citizenship matters to you and the community, and ask them to preach on these topics in the next 3 weeks?
Once you have emailed your clergy, let us know how many priests, deacons, and Bishops you shared it with by filling out this form!
